Take a lot of Art classesFeb 16 2011Art & Design Department
Take a lot of Art classes. If your school has a good program, EVERYTHING is relevant and will be built upon.

SCAD classes are expensive, so it's smart to cut back on SCAD's mediocre general ed classes if possible (it's art classes that you want!) If you think you can handle it, take AP Classes, courses that give you dual college credit, IB courses, SAT II exams, etc. of topics such as:
1. ENGLISH (Composition, Speech, and an elective)
2. MATH or SCIENCE (SCAD requires a Math class, but if you pass SCAD's math exam, you can substitute Math with a Science)
3. A Social Science Course
4. Things that SCAD might take as Free Electives or General Education Electives.
I did this and started off as a sophomore!!

Take ACT or SAT. (Or both, and maybe even two times each, like me)

Make art. make art. make art. make art. build a portfolio. enter competitions. build experience. learn to write well and speak well. make more art. repeat. <--that should be a GIVEN to anyone who remotely thinks of applying.

It's really easy to get inDec 16 2010Design Arts - Industrial Design/Graphic Design/etc
It's really easy to get in. SCAD just wants your money, and if too many people get enrolled, they just buy another building and turn it into a dorm.
SAT: 1320 Male
Go to community college first!!!!!Dec 14 2010Perfomance Arts
go to community college first!!!!!
dont pay $3,500 for a psychology class you could take for $150.
SAT: 1280 Female
I applied and had the all the funding requieredDec 07 2010Perfomance Arts
I applied and had the all the funding requiered for attendance. That's was all. Anyone can get into SCAD Peforming Arts... Anyone! They claim to have an Audition process, but on the day I had mine, there were so many people they could not get to me. One week later I received my acceptence letter. Turns out the Audition was for Scholarships only. Most of the people trying for scholarships must not have done well, because very few showed up for orientation. SO... If you you've got the money and the time to waste, then go to SCAD for a sunstandard education. Or do as I am and transferring out to a real school.
SAT: 1100 Male
